Manager - WA / Senior Mining Tenement Manager

Julie has been a valuable member of the Perth team since 2008, and the WA State Manager since May 2011. In her current role as Perth manager she supervises a team of six and provides on-going training, review and support on a range of tenure-related matters.

The role of WA State Manager includes the implementation of current policy and procedure and also the introduction of new guidelines to ensure the team is up to date with industry and legislation. Julie constantly reviews internal systems and develops strategies and mechanisms to guarantee compliance with the Mining Act 1978, the Mining Regulations 1981 and other related legislation.

The overall management of the TAS WA portfolio involves providing expert advice and guidance to clients on a range of complex matters including:

  • ground acquisition;
  • JV and farm-in/farm-out agreement monitoring and management;
  • the compilation and lodgment of caveats, transfers, bonds, securities and all other dealings;
  • representation and lobbying to relevant government bodies on behalf of clients;
  • Forfeiture Submissions; and
  • Native Title advice, representation and negotiations.

Julie administers all critical date activities, including Extension of Term and Exemption from Drop Off applications to ensure tenure continuity.

Her knowledge of the West Australian Mining legislation, network of contacts within governing bodies and private enterprises, her attention to detail and skills in negotiation make Julie a vital asset to WA clients, and a successful team leader.
